ALHYDRAN scar cream and the silicone therapy products (silicone gel / silicone plasters) from BAPSCARCARE, SCARBAN and CINOSCAR are used for the aftercare of wounds and scars after an accident, burn or operation, for example.
When should you use a scar cream?
A good scar cream limits moisture loss by moisturizing. The cream attracts moisture from deeper skin layers and retains it better.
ALHYDRAN scar cream contains substances that help your skin to recover as well as possible. By taking good care of your scar, you will suffer less from annoying complaints such as itching, redness and dry skin.
Apply ALHYDRAN scar cream immediately after wound closure, 2-3 times a day, or when the skin asks for it (for example because it is pulling) and as long as the scar is active (bright red in colour). ALHYDRAN can also provide care for an old (no longer active) scar.
The cream is also great to use for a scar in the face.
When to start using silicone gels or plasters?
You can start silicone scar therapy immediately after wound closure. Possibly in addition to the use of ALHYDRAN moisturizing cream. Never use a silicone plaster or gel on an open wound.
Silicone therapy is suitable for the treatment and prevention of abnormal scars. The scar gels or plasters from BAPSCARCARE, SCARBAN or CINOSCAR ensure that your scar loses less moisture. A good moisture balance in the skin ensures that complaints of scars decrease and that the scar is visibly reduced and cosmetically improved.
Result: fewer scar complaints, fewer visible scars and a faster recovery.
For the best result, we recommend starting immediately after wound closure. A silicone scar treatment takes an average of 6 to 12 months.
The effect of our scar creams and silicone scar products is scientifically substantiated.
