Scarban Elastic Finger is a silicone finger bandage (4 pieces) to treat (abnormal) scars on the finger. This finger bandage with an extra thick layer of silicone ensures optimal recovery of your scar and reduces scar complaints. This plaster covers the vulnerable scar skin and reduces moisture loss. This ensures that the scar becomes smoother, flatter and less red. In addition, the plaster offers at least 93% protection against harmful UV radiation.
It is known that 50% of all scars become hypertrophic after surgery. It is therefore important to start treatment as soon as possible after complete wound closure. This allows the scar to heal as optimally as possible. You can treat the scar as long as you experience symptoms and the scar is active.
When a wound has healed, you may get a scar. To promote the healing of the scar, you can apply a silicone scar plaster over the closed skin. This can prevent your scar from causing complaints such as pain and itching, thickening or becoming red. Your scar will heal faster and more beautifully than without treatment. Silicone plasters can reduce complaints for both new and old scars. However, you will achieve the best result if you apply a scar plaster as soon as possible after the wound has closed.
Silicone patches promote the healing of a scar by protecting the skin. A silicone patch is an excellent covering for the vulnerable scar skin. It helps the skin to retain moisture, which stops the overproduction of scar tissue. It also stops bacteria. Because of this effect, silicone patches are recommended by professionals for scar treatment worldwide.
The size of the silicone finger is determined based on the circumference of the finger:
If your finger size is between 2 sizes, choose the smaller size. The smaller size ensures sufficient contact with the finger and puts more pressure on the scar.
Step 1
Rub the finger you want to treat with a cream (for example ALHYDRAN scar cream ), so that it slides easily into the silicone finger, not the compression stocking. - If desired, the Scarban Finger can be cut to length (use the line marking on the product)
Step 2
Carefully pull the Scarban compression stocking over the silicone finger using back and forth movements. The compression stocking provides additional scar treatment.
Step 3
When removing the Scarban Finger, first remove the compression stocking from the affected finger (from bottom to top). Then the silicone finger is carefully removed.
